We’ve been waiting a long time to say this: N++ is available on Steam!
And it’s only $15! Get it while it’s hot (ie discounted an extra 20% for launch week): https://store.steampowered.com/app/230270/

While it’s downloading, why not enjoy the Steam launch trailer 😉

(For now N++ is Windows-only, but we’ll be adding Mac and Linux versions as well.)

It’s been a long journey to get to this point, and we’re so glad that we’ve finally arrived.

When we started working on N++ way back in 2012, our main goal was to make something so definitive that we would never need to revisit the world of N with a sequel. For most of development, we weren’t sure if this was something that could be done, and sometimes it definitely seemed impossible, but in the end we managed to surprise ourselves with how far we were able to push everything, and how well it all came together.

While we tried to make N++ the most accessible in the series (with the extensive Intro section, where we provide landscapes for you to learn the techniques you’ll use in the game), we also wanted to make sure it was something that fans of N and N+ would love most of all. We don’t want to spoil the surprises, because they’re so much fun to discover! Suffice it to say, we’re really excited to see how the community reacts to all of the stuff we managed to pack in there.

We still have a lot of work to do — there are a lot of small issues and bugs to fix — but we’re going to be supporting this game for a long time to come. Worry not, we’ve got your back.

Once the launch issues are taken care of, we will finish porting to Mac/Linux and get the demo out, and then we can start rolling out new content for everyone. (The PS4 version will be brought up to parity with the Steam version, and moving forward all versions of N++ will be identical in terms of functionality.)

Do you have questions for us? we’re doing an AMA right now! https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/4zjjd8/were_metanet_software_developers_of_n_n_and_n_ama/

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and offered encouragement over the many, many years of N/N+/N++. We really couldn’t have done it without you — you rock!

Enjoy, and remember:

  • Hi!
It’s good to know you’re working on a Mac version, I really want to by your game. Is there any chance it could be finished by the 1st of September? If not, that’s fine!
    Cheers.

  • hi Will! thanks, we’re glad you want to buy N++ 🙂 We’re not sure when it will be finished for Mac/Linux yet, but it’s not likely to be by September 1st, unfortunately. Should be soon though! Keep an eye on our twitter for updates: http://www.twitter.com/metanetsoftware

  • Hi, already got the game on steam (on ps4 as well, platinum’d it too ;D!) but I was just wondering how are the sales doing for steam so far? Hopefully some good news, was totally bummed out when I heard for ps4, hopefully its doing well on pc!

  • @Firefox: we are waiting until a week has passed to see how things are going because we can then compare to our other launches and get a better idea of the possible big picture. we hope sales are good, because we have so many plans for this game and we would love to have the resources to add them! Fingers crossed. Thanks for buying on PS4 AND Steam, wow you’re awesome 🙂

  • Im having fun with N++ on Steam. but i want to try edit game sounds. I mean, i want to change from N++ sounds to N+ sounds

    Where i can get sounds?

  • Hi,
I just wanted to ask if ps4 and pc versions are crossplattform.
In particullar: Can I find PC-created levels on PS4 and vice versa?

  • Progress and highscores are not shared across platforms, but yes, the online level sharing is cross-platform, so players can play all levels made by others regardless of what they’re playing on. Yay!

  • I love the product, and have no complaints. It is an awesome sequel to N+. Just curious as to when the Mac/Linux versions will come out. Any information would be appreciated!

(I am playing on a borrowed computer… and plan on switching to mac as soon as its released. I know they get a lot of hate, but I like my machine.)

  • We’re not sure, currently we’re still fixing bugs :/

Mac looks to be ready much sooner than Linux though. We’ll post as soon as we know something definitive.

  • Sorry, we no longer have any of the assets from N+ :/

We think the N++ sounds are better anyway 😉
